Membership pricing & terms
Annual plans, trial, renewal, and billing terms.
TrustTrip memberships are annual subscriptions that unlock driving or, where required, booking as a passenger. They are completely separate from what you pay when reserving a seat. This page covers the membership side only: plans, trial, renewal, and the terms that apply. For seat totals and platform fees, the Pricing page is the reference.
Membership is not trip payment
Membership: annual, per persona
One subscription per persona (driver or passenger) is billed once a year through Stripe Subscriptions, or after your free trial when one applies. It unlocks the persona's capabilities and renews annually unless you cancel for period end.
Trip payments: per booking, per seat
When a passenger reserves a seat, they pay the shared trip amount plus a per-seat platform fee at checkout. None of that is included in, reduced by, or billed through the membership. The two never mix on an invoice.
Plans & current prices
The current TrustTrip plan prices are shown below. Confirm the final amount in Account → Subscriptions and on your invoice.
Driver membership
$19.99 per year, after a 90-day free trial. Required for driver membership access on TrustTrip while the plan is active. Publishing trips still requires an approved driver profile after review. One membership covers all your published trips with no per-trip publishing charge.
Passenger membership
$9.99 per year, after a 180-day free trial. Applies when passenger membership is required for booking checkout. It does not replace per-booking amounts. It is the access layer, not the trip payment.
Free trial and billing card
Trials unlock membership billing access for that persona before the first invoice. Drivers still need an approved profile to publish. The mechanics are simple, with one date to remember:
Starting a trial
When onboarding shows a no-card trial, membership billing access for that persona starts immediately for the trial window. Publishing still needs an approved driver profile. Nothing is charged during the trial, and no card is on file unless you add one.
Before the trial ends
Add a billing card in Account → Subscriptions to continue past the trial. We send reminders before trial end with a direct link. If no card is on file when the trial expires, access pauses rather than charging you unexpectedly.
After the trial
With a valid billing card on file, Stripe renews the membership automatically each year. You never re-enter your card unless you update it, and upcoming renewals are always visible in Account → Subscriptions.
Membership terms
Activating a membership means accepting these rules. They are short and do not hide anything:
Annual billing
Memberships renew on an annual cycle, with invoices issued through Stripe. The renewal date and amount are always visible in Account → Subscriptions. Keep a valid card on file so renewal can complete if the charge is attempted.
Cancelling your membership
You can cancel for period end at any time from Account → Subscriptions without a support ticket. Access continues until the current paid period or trial ends, then the membership simply does not renew.
Refunds
Membership payments are not refunded after activation or the first paid invoice. The free trial lets you evaluate the membership before paying, so make your decision during the trial.
Taxes
When sales tax applies to membership invoices under TrustTrip tax settings, it appears itemized on the Stripe invoice. The amount you see before confirming is the amount charged.
Membership FAQ
Account → Subscriptions, in the renewal card section. Cards saved under Payment methods are for trip checkout only. The membership renewal card is managed separately, on the subscription itself.
Nothing immediately. Cancelling schedules the membership to end at the close of the current paid period or trial. You keep full access until then. After that date the membership does not renew, no further invoice is issued, and you can reactivate later if you change your mind.
Plan prices can change over time. Check Account → Subscriptions for the amount currently offered to your account, and confirm each charged amount on its invoice. A price change does not alter a period you have already paid.
