Help for passengers
The passenger procedures, end to end: search, review, book, and manage — with what to expect at each step.
This guide is procedural: it tells you where to click and what happens next, from your first search to managing a confirmed booking. For the narrative overview of how TrustTrip works, the How it works page is the better read — this one is for getting things done.
Search and compare
- Open the trips page and search — Enter departure, destination, and optionally a date and seat count. The search matches segments — trips passing through your points partway along a longer route appear too. Use the mode chips above the list to switch between all trips, segment search, and (signed in) location modes.
- Narrow with filters — Max price, departure window, and minimum seats apply in every mode. If results are thin, widen the date first — it is the filter that excludes the most.
- Open trip pages to compare — Each result opens a full trip page: official route points, schedule, available seats, driver profile with reviews, vehicle context, and the exact amount breakdown for your segment. Comparing two or three trip pages on the same corridor takes a minute and is worth it.
Reserve a seat
- Choose your boarding and drop-off points — On the trip page, select the segment you want — your points and seat count drive the total, which updates in the breakdown before any payment step.
- Sign in and confirm in secure checkout — Checkout shows a server-calculated quote: shared trip amount plus platform fee, locked before payment. The amount charged is exactly the quote you confirm — if trip pricing changes mid-checkout, you get a fresh quote instead of a silent change.
- Get your confirmation — The moment checkout succeeds, your seat is reserved: the booking record appears in your passenger space with amounts, segment, and status, and the driver sees your confirmed booking. If checkout fails, nothing is held and nothing is charged.
After you book
Your passenger space is the control panel
Upcoming trips, booking status, trip updates, and notifications all live there. Trip-day coordination — boarding point details, timing — happens in the trip messaging, where it stays on the record.
Changing your stops
Need a different boarding or drop-off on the same trip? Open the booking and request an adjustment: the driver reviews it, any price impact is shown before you confirm, and nothing changes until it is accepted. The booking adjustments guide covers details and limits.
Cancelling
Cancel from the booking page, as early as possible — consequences and refund treatment depend on timing and follow the published cancellation policy. Read that page before cancelling so there are no surprises.
